The Active Start program is for children ages 4-6.  The first rule of this program is to have FUN!  All programs within the Active Start division are open to boys and girls.  Young athletes age 4  and 5 will participate in the U4/U5 program, and athletes age 6 will play in the U6 program.

At the introductory level, the objective of playing soccer is to get children moving and to keep them active. There is zero competitive play. The physical curriculum provides for learning basic fundamental movement skills such as:  Running, jumping, twisting, throwing and catching.

The Technical requirements are not about teaching the techniques of soccer.  Instead the focus is on encouraging children to become friends with the ball, and experiencing the following through fun and imaginative games:

  • Running with the ball
  • Stopping and changing directions with the ball
  • Dribbling
  • Kicking
  • Shooting

Physical Literacy is the base of any sport, and will only help our children become more confident in their own physical abilities.
